Room for your group
A warm, central, step-free building on Frederick Street, in use by the town six days a week. Regular bookings and one-off hires are both welcome.
Why here
Your hire keeps this place open
We are a small congregation looking after a large Grade II listed building, and we would far rather it were full than empty.
Every pound of hire income goes straight back into running the building and paying for the community work that happens inside it: the holiday Grub Club, the Community Kitchen, the warm room through the winter. Booking a room here is a quietly useful thing to do.

The spaces
Three rooms, and a church
Tell us roughly what you need and we will suggest the room that fits. Capacities, layouts and current rates are sent on request, so you always get today's figures rather than last year's.
Largest space
The Church
Our worship space, with a pipe organ and a grand piano. Suited to concerts, recitals, rehearsals, carol services and larger gatherings.
Musicians: do ask about the organ and the piano. We are glad when they are played.
Groups and classes
The Upper Hall
A flexible hall used through the week by dance schools, youth theatre, uniformed groups and our own Warm Wednesday Welcome. Tables and chairs available.
Smaller meetings
The Blue Room
A quieter room for smaller groups: committees, courses, counselling, study groups and one-to-one work. Home to our own Friday Bible Study.
Need something else? There are further rooms in the building and we are flexible about how they are used. If you are not sure what would suit, describe the group and we will work it out with you.

What to tell us
Include these four things and we can usually answer with a room, a time and a price in one reply.
- Who you are — your group, and what you do
- When — day, time, how long, and whether it is weekly, monthly or one-off
- How many — a rough number of people, and whether adults, children or both
- What you need — tables, chairs, kitchen, parking, and any access needs
